Psyche is our guest of honor: the human soul, curious about life, learning to love, and discovering the beauty and mystery of existence. Through the story of this character, we explore our own journeys toward restoring our original beauty and our original medicine to give to the collective.
Psyche’s mythological journey is an invitation for us to reconnect with our own Psyche.

Religare is a Latin word associated with binding or tying back together, and it is often associated with the word religion.
We use Religare as a metaphor: the restoration of relationship.
Religare is a verb here, a living practice of reconnecting: body and soul, human and earth, the individual and the greater web of life.
And also... reconnecting with the deliciousness of being alive!

We follow the ways of The Mother, Kosmos, which, to the ancient Greeks, meant Ordered Beauty. This cosmology (worldview/philosophy/orientation) connects the cosmos with the feminine art of spiritual domesticity and bringing things into exquisite relationship.

Here, beauty is a practice, story is our medicine, and ritual is how we give shape to our heart's desires and our intentions in life…
We also play/experiment with ways of living that bring our values into our everyday life, into our communities, into the world… until the life we long for becomes a life we actually inhabit.

- Reclaiming adornment as a sacred art: the intentional use of color, clothing, flowers, scent, ornament, and beauty to honor the body, express the originality of the soul, and celebrate our participation in the great web of life. For us, beauty has become a living language of reverence: something we wear, create, embody, and offer to the world. Because we love you, we offer you beauty as medicine, as nourishment.

Restoring Psyche to Wholeness
The House of Religare participates in a larger cultural work of restoration we are doing collectively.
Something happened to the human psyche when the colonial patriarchy took over our lands: a harm, a rupture, a violation of our altruistic nature, a kidnapping of our innocence. And we are still trying to repair that harm.
This is why this house exists. We pay homage to our ancestors and to the children of The New Earth when we engage in this work of restoring Psyche.
